Stella (Kim Chiu) gets vulnerable as she opens up to Vincent (Paulo Avelino) in the April 8 episode of “The Alibi.”
After facing off with Claudia (Sofia Andres), Vincent takes Stella to a rooftop with a scenic view. “Alam ko kasing masama ang timpla mo,” he tells Stella, who tries to leave but is stopped by Vincent. “Hindi tayo aalis dito hangga’t hindi mo nailalabas ‘yan. Kanina ko pa napapansin na tahimik ka.” He then asks if Claudia had said other hurtful things to her.
She admits that she has gone through far worse than what Claudia had done. While she maintains a strong personality, Vincent assures her that he is willing to listen if she can no longer keep it all in.
Stella reiterates. But Vincent encourages her to loosen up and show her emotions. Stella refuses, and later, Vincent brings her a cone of ice cream, her favorite. She shares that she never really enjoyed eating one during childhood, as her family was struggling financially.
Stella reflects further, including how she helped her mother earn money back then at her young age. She reveals to Vincent that while she and her siblings share the same mother, they have different fathers. “Sinasabi ng mga tao sa nanay ko, malandi siya, maharot, kaladkarin,” she recalls, noting how people expected her to grow up like her mom—and true enough, she did.
Her profession is what helped her provide for her siblings’ needs. Tears well up in her eyes.
Stella bares the pain of her past to protect her siblings’ future. Don’t miss “The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan” weeknights at 8:45PM on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, and Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube and Facebook. Episodes drop seven days ahead on iWant.
