In the aftermath of Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) death reaching the headlines and becoming a reminder of social injustice, Erica (Kaila Estrada) walks confidently and happily to Balangay College of Law and Society, where she will deliver her heartfelt speech for aspiring lawyers.
While listening to MABEL’s favorite friendship song, Erica also remembers her treasured memories with Louisa (Mutya Orquia) when they were conversing about moving to Manila on their own after graduation.
Apart from that, Louisa’s tragic murder and young Edong’s (Renshi de Guzman) unjust incarceration also revisit her mind, and she names Edong’s fate as the worst mistake she had ever committed in her life. In front of the students, she further shares how she blamed the flawed system then but also turned to devalue herself more since she allowed fear to silence her rather than bravely speaking up and saving Edong’s innocent life.
Erica then stresses that she carried the guilt for Edong’s incarceration to law school, legal practices, and even actual courtrooms where she still found it difficult to celebrate her wins. She adds that despite the loss of justice that at times would feel excruciatingly inevitable, people shouldn’t cease to protest for the truth, and when failure comes, it isn’t the end but rather a beginning for a lawyer's righteous work.
For Erica, she yearns for the young lawyers to be the ones who would fight for the truth no matter the inconvenience they would face.
