As she continues to battle multiple autoimmune diseases, the country’s undisputed Queen of All Media Kris Aquino took time to give credit to her elder son Joshua on his 31st birthday on June 5, Friday.
According to her most recent Instagram post, Kris said that Josh is just like his younger brother Bimby, providing her with the constant love and support that she needs while undergoing rigorous treatments on her road to wellness.
Kris wrote, “Happy Birthday Kuya Josh! Had I not been yours and Bimb’s mama, I wouldn’t have the courage and the purpose to continue with my treatments. The day-to-day pain in my joints caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis would be so unbearable except for the fact that when my legs give up, and I’m about to take a tumble, you and Bimb have developed this 6th sense and are there to catch me. Thank you, kuya, for your encouragement to get me out of bed as you lead me outside to the living room to watch our favorite shows. You’re the only one who has the power to get me moving. My wish is to one day be able to join you for your daily 7000 to 10,000 steps. You are my inspiration.
I love you very much…”
In 2021, Kris first opened up about how unforgettably life-changing it was for her to become a first-time mother. In her post for Joshua’s 26th birthday, she wrote, “June 4, 1995, I was so NOT READY to be a mama… In many ways, Kuya Josh helped me grow up. He was just 3 years old when it became just the 2 of us… because never kong tinago sa inyo that he is a special child, that he’s in the autism spectrum, oftentimes na-bully s'ya lalo na 'pag may pulitikang involved, BUT 'di hamak mas marami ang nagtanggol at nakaramdam ng pureness ng puso n'ya at ng kanyang genuine na generosity at ang hindi n'ya pagpili sa kakaibiganin at bibigyan ng respeto — for kuya, kung mabait ka at nagpakita ng kabutihan higit dun ang lambing at pagmamahal na isusukli n'ya.”

Joshua is Kris’s son from a previous relationship with actor Phillip Salvador. Her second son, Bimby, is her child with ex-husband, basketball player-turned-councilor James Yap.
