Even with numerous health struggles in the past years, Kris Aquino has continued keeping her fans and loyal followers updated with sporadic posts on social media, sharing important health and even personal details of her life online. Having just been released from the hospital last month, the country’s Queen of All Media shared her thoughts on her son Bimby Yap’s 19th birthday in the early hours of April 19, Sunday.
In her Instagram post, Kris shared a short video clip of Bimby tucking her into bed at night along with his older brother Joshua. In the clip, Kris can be heard asking her son about the girl he is interested in. Kris shared her excitement about the prospect of Bimby’s first relationship in the caption.
“I never thought I’d be excited for the day when Bimb really likes a girl. He told me he feels she’s 'special' — my birthday wish for my bunso is that she does become his first girlfriend and who knows, God willing also his last — yes, I’ll be very blessed to have her for my daughter-in-law (in 7-9 years?)… I’ve been asking Bimb the past couple of weeks if 'we' can send her flowers, balloons, candies/chocolates, food, 1/2 of a couple hoodie in white since it’s summer, I asked Bimb if she had a new phone — he freaked and said: 'Mama, chill. You’ll overwhelm her because she’ll know it’s not from me but from you. Please let it flow?'”
Kris also shared her appreciation for all the selfless love and care Bimby has given through the years, including staying in the US with her while she underwent treatment. She shared what would be the best birthday gift she could give her son this year.
“Bimb has sacrificed so much to take care of me, but he doesn’t have to anymore. The best gift I can give him is to let him enjoy his youth, and let him choose his own career path. My deal with him is he just has to give his 100%.”

Although still undergoing treatment at home, Kris continues to show a positive and hopeful spirit, sharing the latest update on her new medical team with the help of actor Dingdong Dantes.
“As for me, I have 1 more infusion session of Rituxan. This is already my second cycle — it’s a very strong immunosuppressant but I’ve gotten encouraging results. The people I will be working with under the team created by my godson @dongdantes will just need to take extra precautions. There was supposed to be a final presentation earlier (meaning April 18) but I asked for a resked. I didn’t want to see what my comeback show was going to look and sound like, because this is Bimb’s weekend and later we’re eating out (only my 2nd time since coming home) with very close family. #happybirthday #iloveyou #19”
In her last post in February, Kris revealed the challenges she was still facing with her health and how important it was to have the best medical support around her.
“I hate not revealing the whole truth, but sometimes my health has some difficult developments that require me to be very #brave. This Sunday, I begin a difficult journey because if I did nothing it would be my brain or my heart that would be in trouble. Well, let's just be truthful: to begin with, ‘super lampa’ na ko. I cannot afford to have any fractured bones. Preferably someone who can easily catch me if and when ‘matisod’ or ‘mapatid’ ako, and won't be bothered that we'll have two nurses and a few others in front and behind to make sure I'm okay,” she wrote.
