Social media personality and content creator Aldrich Nartia, more popularly known online as Fonz, looked back on what he described as an “ultimate plot twist” in his life after unexpectedly landing a job offer from Queen of All Media Kris Aquino with a viral skit.
Known for his humorous online skits often packed with unexpected twists, Fonz was asked to share a real-life plot twist that changed the course of his journey during his guest appearance in Your Honor on May 23.
“Siguro isa sa pinaka-ultimate na plot twist is 'yung napasok nga ako kay Madam Kris Aquino,” Fonz said.

Before becoming a familiar face in digital entertainment and eventually stepping into acting, Fonz had pursued a very different goal. Years ago, he dreamed of building a life in Singapore as a barista. But just when he believed everything was falling into place, the opportunity suddenly slipped away when the acquaintance who was meant to help him ‘ghosted’ him.
“Ito 'yung time na as in wala ako kapera-pera, wala akong katraba-trabaho. Perfect example ito, kasi nag-a-apply ako ng trabaho sa Singapore, so, 'yun ang goal ko 'di ba? Makapagtrabaho sa Singapore [as] barista. ‘Yung tumutulong sa akin dun ghinost ako, as in ito na 'yung papel ganun, ready na ako. Sabi ko 'asan na? asan na?’ [Kaso] biglang hindi na nagre-reply,” he recalled.
Asked whether he had been scammed, Fonz replied: “Slight”.
He clarified that no money was involved in the process, however, Fonz explained that he had already worked at a coffee shop in Singapore before returning to the Philippines to process his documents. While waiting back home, he was expecting payment from his acquaintance for the work he had done, but it never arrived.
“Sabi niya, 'babayaran kita sa trinabaho mo dun pagbalik natin'. Nung pabalik na kami, hindi na siya nagparamdam. So, parang nalungkot lang [ako] kasi ito 'yung inaasahan ko at alam na ng mga kaibigan ko na magta-trabaho ako sa Singapore,” he continued.

Yet what initially felt like a setback soon became the beginning of something unexpected. While staying home and feeling bored, Fonz turned to humor and creativity. He made a meme featuring Kris in a playful “job interview” skit that quickly gained traction on Facebook long before the height of his TikTok popularity.
“Bored ako nun, ginawan ko ng meme si Madam Kris, 'tapos nag-viral sa Facebook.”

The viral skit featured Fonz acting as an interviewer while Kris, through edited clips, repeatedly answered “No,” creating the comedic impression that she was already moving ahead of the interviewer despite supposedly being the applicant.
“Nakita niya [yung video], minessage niya ako, 'tapos in-offer-an niya ako ng trabaho,” Fonz recalled.
At the time, Kris had no idea that he was struggling to find work and facing uncertainty over his future. Yet her gesture of kindness altered the direction of his life.
“As in nagtatatalon talaga ako. Kaya siya plot twist kasi imagine-in niyo ako talaga 'yung probinsyano na sobrang hilig sa mga artista, tapos 'yung magco-comment sa'yo 'yung number one na artista,” he shared.
The unexpected opportunity marked his first step into the entertainment industry. Fonz then began working with Kris’ team as a production assistant, navigating an industry that was entirely new to him. Over time, he steadily grew into a bigger role behind the scenes.
“Eventually, umabot din ako sa [pagiging] Junior Producer ‘yung tawag, sa mga vlogs niya before,” he said.
He would go on working with Kris for nearly three years, which he now remembers with gratitude.

Even with his growing success as a content creator and his current acting era, Fonz said that chapter remains among the most fulfilling periods of his professional life.
“Best job, apart from being a content creator and pagiging artista,” he said.
Looking back, Fonz also reflected on Kris’ generosity toward her team, something he personally witnessed while handling food purchases for productions.
He shared that Kris ensured her staff were well taken care of, allocating a generous food budget so everyone remained full and comfortable during workdays.
“Nakakatuwa lang. Nung umalis na ako kay Madam, doon ko na-realize [na] grabe pala sa production namin, ang swerte-swerte namin,” he maintained.
Fonz continues to thrive with his social media career with over 1.5 million followers and 123.4 million likes on TikTok.
