POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato — Tin Tiamzon relished her homecoming as the 2026 PVL on Tour makes its South Cotabato stop in Polomolok.

A native of Koronadal City, Tiamzon lived in South Cotabato until she was eight years old, before leaving for Canada.

She eventually returned to the Philippines and played for De La Salle University in the UAAP, where she won three indoor volleyball titles and one beach volleyball championship.

Tiamzon previously played for F2 Logistics and Cignal in the PVL, and is now embracing her new chapter with Akari.

As she suits up with the Chargers on Saturday, Tiamzon is also taking it all in as she plays in front of her kababayans in South Cotabato.

“Kahit nung pag-land lang kanina sa airport, ’yung feeling na parang, ‘Oh wow, I'm home,’” Tiamzon shared with reporters at the Club Kalsangi in Polomolok.

With Polomolok being around 40 kilometers from Koronadal, her family will be watching live — to which she will cherish.

“Siyempre, malapit lang talaga ’yung hometown namin. So the fact na makakanood sila Kuya nang live, and ’yung mga tita ko and also ’yung mga pamangkin ko, I'm excited na makita sila sa courtside and cheering us on,” said Tiamzon.

The former Lady Spiker said PVL visiting the countryside is important, as this could inspire the next generation of volleyball athletes.

“I think it's a huge part of growth sa volleyball dito sa Philippines. Kasi siyempre, when visiting ’yung mga smaller towns or smaller cities, parang nakikita din ng younger generation, 'Oh wow, I can aspire to be a professional athlete in this field,’” said Tiamzon.

“So ’yun nga, it's for PVL to be investing din sa pagpunta sa mga iba-ibang small towns. Maganda siya for future generations.”

Tiamzon and Akari will be facing Choco Mucho in a PVL on Tour Showdown match on Saturday, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., while the double-header starts with a Nxled-Galeries encounter at 4 p.m.
