MANILA, Philippines – Petro Gazz dealt Capital1 its sixth straight defeat, 25-19, 25-18 25-9, in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The Koji Tsuzurabara-coached squad copped its seventh straight victory in the process, gaining momentum towards the qualifying round.

According to captain Remy Palma, their on-court performances always go back to what they have learned during practices and training.
"Lagi naman pong nire-remind ng coaches namin na simulan talaga namin sa ensayo para magke-carry over lang lahat nung process na tinatrabaho namin sa training coming to the game, para 'di kami blinded kung ano 'yung ilalaro namin," Palma said during the postgame press conference.
Myla Pablo, who has been having a fine conference so far, continued her good showing by delivering 14 points on 11 attacks, two blocks and an ace to earn Player of the Game citation, while reigning All-Filipino Conference MVP Brooke Van Sickle added 13 markers to go along with three excellent receptions.
Setter Djanel Cheng made the plays, listing 13 excellent sets, while Jellie Tempiatura registered 12 excellent digs.
Holding a commanding 2-0 lead after two frames, the Angels made a fiery 12-3 start in Set 3, dictating the tone of the remainder of the match as they ended the contest with a 12-1 run.
No player from the losing side tallied double-digit scoring as Heather Guino-o nabbed a team-high eight points.

Petro Gazz (8-1) is on track to secure 10 wins in the preliminaries as it takes cellar dwellers Galeries and Nxled, while Capital1 (1-9) will conclude this round with a face-off against Farm Fresh.
