Maymay weakens into LPA; Habagat to drench western parts of Luzon, Visayas

The remnant LPA was located 620 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela.

It may eventually merge with the broader circulation of Typhoon Dolphin in the coming hours.

As such, the southwest monsoon or Habagat is now the dominant weather system affecting Luzon and Visayas.

PAGASA warned against flooding in urbanized and low-lying areas and those along river channels and landslides in susceptible mountainous terrains.

The agency also urged the public to continue monitoring weather updates and take the necessary measures to protect life and property.
