Weather bureau PAGASA placed Metro Manila and several provinces in Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Western Visayas under Heavy Rainfall Warning late Thursday evening.
As of 11 p.m., August 6, the following areas are under Orange Warning Level:
Metro Manila
Zambales
Bataan
western and southern Pampanga
southwestern Bulacan
Rizal
northeastern and western Laguna
Cavite
western and northern Batangas
northern and central Occidental Mindoro
Intense rainfall may continue to affect these areas in the next three hours and flooding is threatening.
Wind signals lifted as Maymay moves farther away from Luzon
Meanwhile, Yellow Warning Level is in effect over:
western and northern Tarlac
central Pampanga
southern Bulacan
northern Quezon
central Laguna
central Batangas
rest of Occidental Mindoro
Cuyo Islands,
Palawan
northern Antique
northwestern Aklan.
Heavy rainfall may continue to be experienced in these localities, with flooding possible in flood-prone areas.
Habagat is now the dominant weather system affecting Luzon and Visayas as Tropical Depression Maymay continues to move away from the Luzon landmass.
It may eventually weaken into a low pressure area and merge with the larger circulation of Typhoon Dolphin.
Habagat will continue to bring significant rainfall over parts of the Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas through Sunday.

One hundred to 200 millimeters of rainfall, considered heavy to intense precipitation, may be expected over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
The threat of serious flooding and landslides remains in these areas, especially those which received significant prior rainfall.
PAGASA urged the public to continue monitoring weather updates and take the necessary measures to protect life and property.
