While they were on their way to hang out, Gabo (Coco Martin) and his friends came across a commotion involving five young waste pickers and the woman who owned the store from which they had stolen bread. They caught the woman and the barangay tanod she had asked for help beating two of the children.
As he asked the woman what the ruckus was about, she angrily told him, explaining that the children had stolen from her. Moved by the children's pitiful condition, Gabo decided to pay the full cost of the bread they had stolen, which amounted to P200. After receiving the payment, the irate store owner warned the children that they would face serious consequences if they stole once again.
Once the store owner and the barangay tanod had left, Gabo asked the children why they resorted to stealing. They confessed that they were only forced to do so due to extreme hunger, to which Gabo reprimanded them, reminding them that hunger was not an excuse to steal. Kulot (Princess Kathryn Caponpon), apparently the eldest among the group, explained that they did not intend to steal, but they had not eaten anything since the night before.
Understanding their plight, Gabo made them promise that they would never do it again, to which they answered in unison, "Opo, Kuya Gabo!" He then gave them P500 so they could buy food, which they happily accepted. He also told them to look for him whenever they needed help or were hungry, a gesture the children gladly agreed to before running off.
Ipe (Bassilyo) expressed his pride and amazement at how far Gabo had come since his days as one of the snatchers alongside Django (Jhong Hilario) and his gang.
“Napakalaki ng natutunan ko sa loob ng kulungan. Nakita ko kung gaano kahirap ang buhay doon. Kaya ang mga nagawa kong mali noon, hindi na dapat matutunan ng mga bata ngayon,” Gabo said.
Tekla (Sue Ramirez) agreed, emphasizing that they should not tolerate wrongdoing among the children in their community. “Tama naman sa Gabo. Hindi naman talaga tayo dapat ang nagkukunsinti sa mga bata rito sa lugar natin, 'no? Dapat tayo ang nakakatanda, sabihin natin sa kanila kung ano ang tamang asal at tamang gawin.”
