To ensure that the latest mission entrusted to them by PLTCOL Romulo Domingo (Art Acuña) would succeed—an ambush targeting Manila Telebalita reporter Salvador Manalo (Rey Campanilla) for his relentless criticism of former PMGen. Ricardo Jacinto (Edu Manzano)—Paquito (Rez Cortez) instructed his son, Django (Jhong Hilario), to carry it out himself.
However, instead of obeying him, Django decided to assign the mission to the gang's new recruits, explaining to Paquito that it was his way of assessing their competence while allowing them to learn the ropes on their own at the same time. Besides, the task was very simple, and he had already briefed them on everything they needed to do, so there was nothing to worry about.
A heated argument erupted between father and son, with Django getting mad at Paquito for doubting his decisions as the future king of Ginintuang Lupa. Paquito reminded Django that he was the one who built their empire and still held the people's loyalty, so Django had no reason to boast yet.
The gang members Django sent to accomplish the mission soon returned to their hideout, badly beaten, proving Paquito right. Enraged after learning they were defeated by a single person who helped their target, Django lashed out and assaulted them, further deepening Paquito's disappointment over his son's arrogance and recklessness.
As Paquito lamented Django's growing arrogance, Ibyang (Aleck Bovick) reminded him that the apple does not fall far from the tree. She pointed out that Django had simply inherited his father's
pride and headstrong nature, prompting Paquito to argue that his confidence came from years of effectively and successfully leading their group.
Ibyang, however, reminded Paquito that he had done everything he could to guide Django and molded him to become like him, so she wouldn't be surprised if Django could eventually surpass him.
