Lucky Star Sharlene San Pedro brought fun and excitement to the studio of “Kapamilya, Deal Or No Deal” after the Lucky Wheel landed on her assigned briefcase, number 20, introducing her as the celebrity player for the game show’s August 1 episode.
Kicking off her appearance with a nostalgic “Goin’ Bulilit” joke, the former child star proudly shared in her introduction video how she has built a career as a video game content creator. Sharlene now spends much of her time interacting with her growing online audience through livestreams, where she plays and shares her favorite video games.
Delighted to share the stage with Sharlene once again, Pambansang Host Luis Manzano expressed how happy he was to be reunited with her. Their 'father-daughter' bond began on “Star Circle Kid Quest,” where Luis served as the competition’s host and five-year-old Sharlene finished as the first runner-up.
Fearing that her assigned briefcase might contain a low-value amount, Sharlene decided to swap briefcase number 20 for briefcase number 11—the very first briefcase the game show asked her to hold.
Her strategy throughout the game centered on opening the briefcases she had also considered choosing. Her instincts proved to be correct when she opened her original assigned briefcase first, revealing ₱500 inside. The rest of the opening round went smoothly as she uncovered ₱1, ₱5, and ₱10,000, with ₱100,000 becoming the first six-digit amount eliminated from the money board that night.
After bravely turning down the Banker’s opening offer of ₱111,000, Sharlene entered the second round with renewed confidence. However, her momentum was short-lived after she immediately eliminated the ₱150,000 and ₱500,000 cash prizes from the money board.
Despite hoping to recover in the succeeding rounds, misfortune continued to follow Sharlene as she revealed the briefcases containing ₱125,000 and ₱250,000. She later chose Emilio Daez’s briefcase, hoping he would bring her luck after being the first Lucky Star she saw on set. However, she was disappointed to discover that the game show’s coveted ₱1 million jackpot prize had been inside Emilio’s briefcase all along.
After a disappointing fourth round, Sharlene gradually regained her footing by eliminating the ₱10, ₱100, ₱200, and ₱300 amounts from the money board. With only ₱1,000 and ₱50,000 remaining, she stood her ground and boldly declined the Banker’s final offer of ₱24,500. Her gamble ultimately paid off when her chosen briefcase was revealed to contain ₱50,000.
Still processing her win, the actress reflected on her experience, saying, “Sobrang nakakakaba. Parang hindi ako makahinga at tsaka parang nanunuyo ‘yung labi ko. Pero nakapagandang experience [pa rin]!”
