Feeling both nervous and excited, Lucky Star Sharlene San Pedro was caught by surprise when the Lucky Wheel landed on her assigned briefcase, number 20, making her the August 1 celebrity player on “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal.”
In a lighthearted introduction video, Sharlene shared how she has built a career as a video game content creator, livestreaming the games she plays to a growing online audience.
When asked how she felt after being selected as the evening’s celebrity player, Sharlene admitted that she was far more anxious than she had expected. She even confessed to feeling more nervous than she did during her first taping, when her only concern was figuring out how to properly open her assigned briefcase.
Pambansang Host Luis Manzano later shared how happy he was to be reunited with Sharlene. Their long-standing connection dates back to when Sharlene was just five years old and competed in “Star Circle Kid Quest,” with Luis serving as the program’s host.
Playfully teasing Luis about his age, Sharlene pointed out just how long ago the memory was, especially now that she is already 27 years old. In response, Luis jokingly wished that Sharlene would eliminate the game show's coveted ₱1 million jackpot.
Reflecting on her showbiz career, Sharlene cited her stint as a MYX VJ as one of her most memorable experiences, saying it stood out because it was a refreshing change from her usual acting projects.
Believing that her assigned briefcase usually contained low-value amounts, Sharlene decided to change things up by exchanging briefcase number 20 for briefcase number 11—the very first briefcase she had been asked to hold on the show.
Her opening round got off to a promising start after she eliminated the ₱1, ₱5, ₱500, and ₱10,000 cash prizes, with only the ₱100,000 amount serving as an early six-digit setback. Impressed by her strong start, the Banker offered Sharlene an enticing ₱111,000 deal, but she confidently turned it down.
