A short time after Jalil (Gerald Anderson) fixed Teresa’s (Susan Africa) car, she warmly invited him for a home-cooked dinner. While enjoying their meal, as she observed Jalil, Teresa unexpectedly recalls how Marcus (Richard Gutierrez) and his long-departed brother, Gabriel, would always favor eating vegetables.
Soon enough, she gets more emotional and eventually shares the unforgetable story of Gabriel’s tragic demise thirty years ago to Jalil. In a flashback, Teresa was accompanied by young Marcus and Gabriel on a ship that would transport her to a medical mission. Back then, Marcus would complain a lot about keeping watch over a clumsy Gabriel, who would frequently get hurt.
One night, while the ship was approaching the point of tragedy due to an intensifying storm, Marcus tended to a crying Gabriel. In an unfortunate turn of events, Gabriel fell to the erratic waves, and his body was never retrieved.
Returning to the present, Jalil comforts Teresa, saying that grief doesn’t really go away, but instead, we learn to live with it. In response, Teresa painfully wonders what Gabriel could have been if he were to be alive.
Jalil further consoles Teresa by fully understanding her sentiments, also disclosing that he would often think about his real family, since he was adopted as a child.
Will Teresa uncover Jalil’s true identity?Find out in “Blood vs Duty,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
