Some people just seem to attract good fortune wherever they go, and every once in a while, life gives them a sweet second shot at it. Not everyone gets invited back by luck twice, but Negi did!
Negi first played the "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal" game as one of the Lucky Stars in Season 5 back in 2015, and was eventually given the chance to return as part of the Lucky Stars roster once again in the show’s current season.
Just last weekend, the Kapamilya comedian got to press 'replay' as he took his turn to go up against 'Banker' for the second time, and interestingly, we noticed he switched strategies compared to his first try, leading to a very different outcome.
First, let's rewind Negi's 2015 run on "Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.” Before settling with a briefcase, he shared a quick conversation with host Luis Manzano where he opened up about the more difficult parts of his life, including not being fully accepted by his father. But as he shared, after the passing of his mom, he slowly came to understand his father more, eventually learning to forgive and love him deeper.
Negi was originally assigned with Briefcase 2 but he swapped it with Briefcase 1. Right away, the first 'reveal' eliminated the P500,000 on the money board. Still, he managed to bounce back and end the first round decently.
In the second set, Negi felt a sense of relief early on, as he was already guaranteed not to become a “pisonaryo” after the P1 briefcase was opened. The situation flipped by the third round, though. Negi was heartbroken and full of regret after choosing to open briefcase number 2—his original briefcase—which actually had the P1,000,000 jackpot money.
But even if he didn’t leave as a millionaire, the universe was still kind to Negi. As he managed to keep the P200,000 (against a possible P300) alive on the money board until the final round, the Banker offered him P 101,000, which he considered a good deal already.
Compared to his first time playing, Negi was noticeably more comfortable and relaxed during his "re-game." While he was more serious and emotional when talking about his family before, this time he handled the same topics with humor. Now he's also grown more close with Luis, which made their banter feel more natural throughout.

Just like in his first stint, Negi also chose to swap his original briefcase with one from a fellow Lucky Star. He picked Briefcase 18. And almost as if mirroring his performance a decade ago, the "piso" once again appeared early in the middle of the rounds, so he managed to give the Banker a good fight.
In the final stretch, the P150,000 and P200 were left on the money board, which led the Banker to offer him P65,101. But things played out differently, because while he chose to “deal” before, Negi went for “no deal” this time. In the end, he took a gamble on Briefcase 18, which held P200.

But there was no room for disappointment, because even if he didn’t get the ending he was hoping for, Negi still spread good vibes and made the entire studio laugh when he playfully kissed his fellow Lucky Star Long Mejia after the game.
Well, that’s the thing about playing a game of chance. Sometimes you get a better strategy, sometimes you get a different outcome, but either way, it’s always an experience worth remembering.
