The best thing about rooting for a "Pinoy Big Brother" ship is watching the closeness unfold candidly, from the awkward early days in Bahay Ni Kuya all the way to the moments that had us fully convinced this was never just for the cameras. That unscripted chemistry is what made us shippers in the first place.
And as shippers, there is no greater feeling than knowing we called it. That the bond we watched bloom inside that house survived the outside world, too. These five "It's Showtime" moments show us exactly that.
First up: BreKa! When Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo finished their “PBB Collab” stints as the Big Winner Duo, the universe basically confirmed that these two were ‘MiNt’ to be. In the outside world, they've only gotten closer, starring in a drama series with their fellow ex-housemates and even releasing a song together called "What If Tayo?"
When asked on the “It's Showtime” stage about their own "what ifs" with each other, Brent and Mika said, "Walang what ifs" because they make sure to tell each other exactly what they want to say.
You know that feeling of sitting next to your crush on a jeepney—hyper aware of every centimeter between you? That was the ‘feels’ when Will Ashley and Bianca De Vera, a.k.a. WillCa, joined the 'MASAsagot Mo Ba' segment as teammates, seated right next to each other on a makeshift jeepney setup on stage. Kim Chiu noticed it too, pointing out that Will looked kilig-nervous around Bianca. When asked about their status, Bianca turned to Will and jokingly asked, "Taping friends pa rin?" to which he replied, "Hindi na." ICYDK, "taping friends" is showbiz shorthand for people who are close on set but don't really carry that outside of work, basically, friends by proximity and nothing more.
In another episode, "PBB Collab 2.0" 3rd Big Placer Ashley Sarmiento and ex-housemate Rave Victoria joined in on the fun during the 'Laro Laro Pick' game. The way these two were looking at each other was already enough to make us melt, but even more so when they reminisced about their favorite memories in Bahay Ni Kuya.
Rave said what he said: "Totoo pala na sa loob ng Bahay mo makikita ang true love." Ashley just smiled and agreed. The tandem, known as AshRave, also answered questions about their 'ligawan' status, from their favorite dating spot to how they'd each rate the love they have for each other from 1 to 10.
We also got a whole package of kilig courtesy of CarTon, the tandem of Carmelle Collado and Anton Vinzon, who had the Madlang People smiling with their duet of "Please Be Careful With My Heart." So the Showtime family asked Carmelle and Anton how they actually take care of someone's heart. They both agreed that consistency is the key.
IRL, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith of “PBB Gen 11” are going strong, and they've been keeping busy. Fresh off their successful digital series “Ghosting,” the two are headlining their first film together, "Almost Us." Outside of work, they're literally conquering mountains side by side as well. Mt. Pulag and Mt. Mayon are already checked off the list. And according to JMFyang, no matter how high the mountain, none of it feels tiring when they have each other.
The kilig that starts inside Bahay Ni Kuya doesn't clock out when the housemates do. It follows them to the outside world.
