In comedy, apart from timing, chemistry among performers is the real winning formula, which Vice Ganda, MC Muah, and Lassy Marquez bring into their 'puksaan' banter on "It's Showtime."
It's no secret that their friendship has been solidified by years of shared stages and late-night gigs, which is why their back-and-forth feels like just watching best friends casually build on each other’s punchlines until the whole studio is laughing.
So here's a compilation of their comedy gold moments on “It’s Showtime,” as seen on Kapamilya Update.
In one episode of “Laro Laro Pick,” Vice served her friends some quality ‘panlalait’, starting with Lassy’s floral polo shirt, which she said made him like a mausoleum, as in "mausoleo na hindi nalinis."
Vice then noticed Lassy’s micro-bangs, which were apparently inspired by Kaila Estrada, prompting Meme to quip, “Kaila Estrada? ‘Yung anak ni Janice? Mas kamukha mo ‘yung tiyanak, ‘yun ang unang anak ni Janice!” referencing the classic Pinoy horror movie where Janice played the adoptive mother of a child who turned out to be a 'tiyanak.' Lassy laughed through the hurt and admitted, “Nakakatawa ka pero ang sakit n’on,."
And then their battle of pick-up lines turned into a pool of punchlines! MC and Lassy tried to outdo each other with their smoothest 'banat' to make a “Laro Laro Pick” player swoon. “Mapa ka ba? Kasi kaya kong libutin ang mundo, MAPAsaakin ka lang,” Lassy dropped with feelings, only for Vice to shot back, “Mapa ka ba? Kasi ‘pag tiningnan mo siya, MAPApangitan ka sa kanya.”
Of course, MC delivered his own cheesy dialogue, “Yelo ka ba? Kasi tuwing wala ka sa tabi ko, nilalamig ako, eh.” And what was Meme’s back-to-you entry? “MC, yelo ka ba? Kasi isang bloke ka, eh.” Haha!
In another episode, Vice received a bouquet of fuzzy wire flowers from an audience member, then laid it at Lassy’s feet, saying his OOTD looked like a white coffin with pink ribbon. MC’s outfit was the next to get roasted. It was basically a simple shirt with a French tuck, but Vice still managed to turn it into a joke, “Mukha kang plastic bag na binuhol.”
That episode where MC and Lassy hosted “Laro Laro Pick” with Vice and Kim Chiu was also a laugh riot. The week before, the combined face cards of Vice, Kim, Anne Curtis, and Nadine Lustre went viral, so MC and Lassy tried to recreate the moment since they were filling in for Anne and Nadine. But Vice protested and said it would be better if only MC and Lassy stayed onstage for that “Despicable Me" vibe.
In the middle of nonstop 'harutan,' MC fell off the stage platform, which made Vice wonder why the stage suddenly felt too cramped with MC around, so she reminded his friend to stick to one cup of rice per meal, not one sack of rice.
The ‘bardagulan’ continued when Lassy wore a brown top, prompting Vice to tell him not to repeat the outfit because people might step on him by mistake, before throwing in another joke, "Noong isang araw nagsho-shooting kami, eh wala kaming tent, nakatulog si bakla sa semento, tinakpan ng dyaryo!" LOL!
