Love is something people are always curious about---whether it’s the joy of connection, the struggles of misunderstandings, or the lessons learned from heartbreak. It’s not always simple, and many continue to find their way in getting the kind of love they deserve. But don’t worry---two of our favorite Kapamilya stars are here to share a piece of love wisdom from their own experiences! “Roja” stars Maymay Entrata and Kai Montinola have advice that just might inspire you with fresh perspectives on love.
Drawing from her past relationship, Maymay shared that she used to focus only on worldly love, or something that leaned more toward personal gratification. “Kapag worldly ‘yung love, feeling ko doon nagkakaroon ng fears, jealousy, ‘yung parang nagbibilangan ng mali,” she said. Everything changed for her, however, when she learned to center her relationship on God.
“Nagbabase ‘yung love sa kung paano kami minahal ng Panginoon… which is very unconditional. Always available talaga, full of kindness, gentleness, and understanding,” Maymay said. She immediately clarified that these are only her personal thoughts and beliefs, and may not necessarily apply to others. “Mas napadali sa akin na magmahal nang mapayapa kung alam ko na ang pagmamahal na ‘yun [ay] galing sa Panginoon,” she added.
Meanwhile, at just 19 years old, Kai already had meaningful advice to share about choosing the right person to love. “Choose to love someone you truly love, and not because you love them for what society thinks is right for you,” she said with conviction.
The Kapamilya actress added that choosing to date someone just to satisfy others is not right, and should never be the norm. She ended with, “You date someone you want, at alam mo na it’s worth it.”
Whether it’s love for family, friends, or a special someone, what truly matters is choosing to give your love based on what you genuinely feel. Even more so, when you place your faith in that person, those are the factors that will truly strengthen love for one another.
