Before the prayer rally commenced, Roda (Joel Lamangan) called Barangay Chairman Leo Mojica (Rey Campanilla) to give a short speech to their community, who then introduced their future mayor, Tanggol (Coco Martin), as he also delivered their message to them.
In his speech, Tanggol reiterated his reasons for running for office despite not having a really good track record in their barangay nor a good education that he could boast about. However, his ambition and determination to make a change in Manila and be able to help more people were what fueled him to take on the challenge of becoming the city mayor.
He also went on to enumerate his visions for Manila, namely eradicating corruption in the city hall, expelling incompetent and corrupt police officers, and providing livelihood and job opportunities for every Manileño.
Tanggol ended his piece by reminding everyone, “Dapat ang lahat ng mga Pilipino may pangarap. May pangarap para ayusin ang kanilang pamilya, ang kanilang sarili, at ang ating bansa!”
