Upon watching Brando’s (Roi Vinzon) exposé regarding the indiscriminate corruption that their family has been committing over the years, the Guerrero patriarch, Don Gustavo (Dante Rivero), couldn’t help but lash out at Miguelito (Jake Cuenca), Roberto (Albert Martinez), and Jackie (Angel Aquino), especially since the video was released on the very day that he was supposed to face the public anew to revisit his legacy as the former mayor of Manila.
Roberto reminded Don Gustavo that he actually got embroiled in more controversies during his reign, so he was confident that they would be able to get through this again. However, Don Gustavo dismissed him by saying that their current situation is worse since, aside from the fact that a lot of people got to find out about their outrageous actions, it was also their closest allies who betrayed and unmasked them.
Jackie went on to call him out for being selfish, as he was only concerned about his reputation and legacy instead of how to help him resolve the problem. Miguelito, on the other hand, expressed his worry about how he would face the public following this shameful incident.
Don Gustavo angrily remarked that more than Brando’s revelation, he was actually more embarrassed to learn how they mercilessly embezzled even the smallest amount that should have been given to the underprivileged citizens. Thus, he ordered Roberto to be the one to speak to the public and regain the sympathy and trust of their constituents since they’ve certainly lost their confidence in Miguelito. This prompted Roberto to whisper to
Don Gustavo, assuring him that he would fix this mess and wouldn’t allow their name to be destroyed.
As Miguelito asserted that he shouldn’t be the one to be blamed for this debacle, Don Gustavo pronounced that he made the wrong decision to pass the throne to him since he pales in comparison with Roberto. He added that it could have been better if it was Tanggol who was in his position, which made Miguelito cry out of rage. He demanded his father retract what he just said, but Don Gustavo retorted that he was firm about it.
In the midst of their scorching argument, Erika (Gillian Vicencio) suddenly shrieked out of pain as she bled. As Roberto was about to attend to her daughter, Don Gustavo told him to proceed to the event they were supposed to be present at and address the people about Brando’s exposé, while he would be the one to take charge of bringing Erika to the hospital.
Miguelito expressed his desire to join Roberto, but the latter exasperatingly advised him “not this time” since he tends to mess up every time he presents himself to the public. He didn’t mind objecting to his brother and simply followed his order for him to accompany their family in bringing Erika to the hospital and making sure that she was going to be alright. Before they parted ways, Roberto promised Erika that he would immediately follow them to the hospital and encouraged her that she was going to be fine.
