True to his word that he would expose the corrupt deeds of the Guerreros after the intense altercation that sparked between their families at the city hall, Brando (Roi Vinzon) indeed recorded a video of himself wherein he detailed how they’ve been embezzling public funds over the past years.
He asked for someone’s help to upload and spread it online for him, much to the shock, disappointment, and fury of everyone who got to watch it, including Tindeng (Charo Santos) and her allies and the Guerreros. The video commenced with Brando introducing himself as a contractor of a huge construction firm that oversees the infrastructure projects of the city government of Manila. While he has been business partners with them for a very long time, it was only now that he’d finally mustered the courage to speak up in good conscience because he allegedly couldn’t take anymore what the Guerreros have been doing to their constituents.
Brando went on to narrate how he used to be a small-time contractor until he was able to build a connection with the Guerreros, which began at the time of Don Gustavo as the mayor of the city. He revealed that his company has been the Guerreros’ accomplice in their corrupt practices, as projects such as flood control, waiting sheds, basketball courts, and bridges had been awarded to them. Even though the budget allocated to each project was whopping, only 10% was really used for their completion, while the remaining 90% immediately went straight to them.
Furthermore, he disclosed that they personally deliver the kickbacks of the Guerreros to them, which they put in 20 different pieces of luggage that contained bundles of cash that amount to millions of pesos. They may opt to receive their cut in cold cash in order to avoid having any piece of evidence that could point to them, yet Brando was still able to secure copies of contracts, withdrawal slips, receipts, and other documents that could verify his allegations against them.
The revelations indeed made the Guerreros panic, with Jackie (Angel Aquino) asking Roberto if they should respond to it and make it appear that the video was just AI-generated. Miguelito (Jake Cuenca), on the other hand, remarked that they should have long severed their ties with the Mondragons, to which Roberto retorted that the relationship between their families used to be harmonious until they had a problem with their scion, Rockyboy (Baron Geisler). But Miguelito defended himself by saying that it was not him who triggered Brando but Roberto due to his alleged illicit affair with his wife, Divina (Rosanna Roces).
Jackie indignantly stopped them from arguing and insisted that they should rather focus on resolving this issue together.
