While Patrick (Joshua Garcia) continues his investigation into the truth surrounding his mother’s death, he finds himself under scrutiny as Eden (Agot Isidro) calls him out over what happened to Samuel (Michael de Mesa). Meanwhile, Mia (Anne Curtis) recalls the only thing her father ever did for her. "It’s Okay to Not Be Okay" Episode 56 threads these events together.
At OK Hospital, Matmat (Carlo Aquino) and Mang Tommy (Bodjie Pascua) share a conversation where they wonder who between them will first find the door out of their own trauma. This is because Matmat still can’t find the courage to draw a butterfly despite wanting to face his fear.
Apart from butterflies, it turns out he also struggles with drawing facial expressions, which explains the chart of emotions posted at home that he studies from time to time. Since Mia wants the characters in her book to have faces full of expression, she encourages Matmat to keep practicing.
So, he does, with a little help from Jason (Francis Magundayao), who volunteers to model different kinds of sadness. As usual, though, Matmat isn’t too pleased with Jason’s antics, which makes the whole banter adorably funny. Adding more comedy to the scene, Madeth (Xyriel Manabat) enters the room and eagerly volunteers to demonstrate different kinds of smiles, until Matmat walks out and she realizes she has gone a little too 'pa-cute' in front of Jason. Who else noticed that spark between the two?
Back at OK Hospital, Patrick sneaks into the isolation room to see Samuel, believing he’s the only one who can tell whether Ingrid is still alive or if she’s really inside the hospital as Zelda (Ana Abad-Santos) revealed. Patrick talks to the patient, who trembles in fear upon the mention of Ingrid's name. The monitor beside him suddenly spikes until Eden and Olivia (Maricel Laxa) rush in, both insisting on taking over Samuel’s care, but as the Nurse Manager, Eden ends up taking charge.
Those who’ve been following the series since day one have probably noticed the change in Eden, who's grown colder and stricter since her promotion to Nurse Manager. Bent on finding out what really happened during Samuel’s episode, she reviews the CCTV footage and discovers that Patrick talked to the patient. When confronted about what he did, Patrick makes up an excuse, saying he only meant to check on Samuel and accidentally mentioned Mia, which may have triggered the reaction. Still, Eden warns him not to act on anything outside of his assigned duties again.
At the mansion, Mia coldly dismisses her father’s declining condition, saying there’s no point in caring because nothing would change even if he dies.
Later, she invites Gemma (Kaori Oinuma) over for drinks at the mansion, where she opens up about her past. Mia recalls forcing herself to be the “good daughter" to please her mom, of whom she was so scared growing up. She remembers her friendship with Patrick once helped her forget that fear until her mother told her to never see Patrick again. As for her father, she says he never really did anything for her. She wasn’t afraid of him, she just never felt his presence, except for that one time he read her a fairytale.
