Is Kris Aquino cooking up something with ABS-CBN for a comeback project with her former home network? Or is it her son Bimby who is getting a project soon?
Those are the questions going around after Kris and Bimby sat down with ABS-CBN Music head Roxy Liquigan and Jonathan Manalo, assistant vice president and creative director of ABS-CBN Music.
Jonathan posted a photo from the meeting. He did not give away any details, but he described the get-together as a fruitful one.
"Last night's productive meeting," he wrote in his caption.
The post quickly drew comments from fans who could not hide their excitement over what the meeting could lead to.
“Mukhang uupo din sa blue chair si Bimby,” one person playfully teased, mentioning the iconic blue chair where artists of ABS-CBN Music sit after being confirmed as part of its roster.
Also present were Darla Sauler, a longtime friend of Kris who worked with her on Kris TV, and Jasmin Pallera, who served as executive producer of the same show.
Bimby has been guest-hosting on a noontime show, but he has also shown a growing interest in music. He is under Cornerstone Entertainment, and Kris has shared that her son has been taking voice lessons with coach Thor Dulay.
"My 18-year-old has for now decided to continue with his singing lessons with coach Thor (plus some super star 'titos' who have volunteered to teach him about stage presence and how to make audience rapport fun for all)," Kris wrote in an Instagram post in October last year.
"From the time he was 11, he's been my companion every time I've had to be put to sleep for the numerous procedures I have undergone. A singing doctor — thank you, hunny, for being the embodiment of what mama had wished for," she added.
Bimby, however, is no stranger to ABS-CBN Music. He was part of Kris Aquino's album We Are 1, where he was featured as "Baby James." The record came out under Star Records, the network's music arm, and was launched in June 2009 at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.
Its full title was "We Are 1 – A Musical Edu Training (Mother and Child Bonding & Learning Experience)," and it was described at the time as an "edu-taining" album. It was made for pregnant women, infants, and toddlers, to help mother and child bond while guiding a child through the early years.
Along with the songs, the album carried Kris's own voice, with spoken passages where she talked about family, prayer, and the people closest to her.
Talk of a Kris Aquino comeback has been making the rounds online over the past few months, with fans reading meaning into every teaser and photo shared by people in her circle. As of this writing, though, no project has been confirmed.
