MANILA — Alas Pilipinas Women missed out on a podium finish in the 2026 SEA V Cup Leg 1.
The Filipina spikers absorbed a 25-20, 19-25, 22-25, 16-25 loss against Indonesia to finish 0-3 in the first leg of the four-nation tournament on Sunday at the Dong Anh Gymnasium in Hanoi, Vietnam.

They claimed the opening frame, thanks to the spark ignited by Nina Ytang midway. Trailing 14-16, the Philippines scored five straight—the last three coming from the four-time UAAP Best Middle Blocker from the University of the Philippines.
They worked on that lead for the rest of the set, as a Dell Palomata block and a service error from Indonesia capped Alas Women's opening frame win.
However, they could not repeat the same in the next three sets, as the rallying Indonesian side cruised to the bronze medal.
Their rivals unleashed a 7-1 finishing kick, capped by a Bella Belen attack that sailed wide and a block on the National U product for Indonesia's first podium placement since 2023.
The Philippines' four straight bronze medal streak was halted after the loss to Indonesia.
