Adamson University head coach JP Yude against Ateneo de Manila University in UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball. UAAP Media.MANILA — Adamson University has yet to string together two straight wins in UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball, and head coach JP Yude is pushing for consistency as their campaign deepens.
The Lady Falcons are currently fourth in the standings with a 5-4 record, but Yude is challenging his squad to deliver more, especially with the Final Four race tightening.

“We need to always stay consistent,” he said after they swept Ateneo de Manila University on Wednesday to bounce back from their previous loss to De La Salle University.
“We are trying our best na maka-win streak. Kailangan naming mag-grind at todo hard work kasi nga crucial games na yung natitira. Kailangang maging mentally tough when it comes to handling situations,” he added.
Adamson is currently tied with University of Santo Tomas in the standings for the fourth and fifth spots, with the Lady Falcons holding a slim one-point edge to stay ahead.
This is why Yude wants his team to finally turn the tide as they enter their final five games of the elimination round.
“We are trying our best na maipanalo yung rest ng games namin sa second round,” he said. “Satisfied naman ako on how we respond and how we develop our character.”
As they approach the final stretch of Season 88, Yude is banking on Adamson’s more balanced approach this year compared to Season 87, with Shaina Nitura now getting support from the likes of Frances Mordi, Fhei Sagaysay, and Eloi Dote.
“At least, may katulong na si Shaina,” he said. “Everyone may contribution na. Kailangan lang pukpuin pa lalo, so kailangan lang nilang gamitin yun nang mas maayos. We trust them, kailangan lang pukpukin to their limits.”
