MANILA — Filipino setter Owa Retamar is set to compete in Cambodia after signing with Visakha under the Cambodia Volleyball Federation for the Fourth National Volleyball Championship, also known as the Sar Kheng Cup.

The tournament will run from February 7 to March 1 at the National Olympic Stadium.

The Sar Kheng Cup allows each participating club to register one foreign player, a regulation designed to elevate the level of competition and contribute to the long-term development of Cambodian volleyball.

Retamar said this is his way of contributing to the visibility of Philippines' men's volleyball.

“Accepting this invitation from Cambodia is my way of contributing to help sustain the visibility of Philippine men’s volleyball, especially amid the uncertainties surrounding our local teams. I’m excited to learn from the environment there and contribute in the best way I can,” said Retamar through his agency.

This also comes after Cignal decided to take a leave of absence from Spikers' Turf.

A proud product of National University, Retamar is Alas Pilipinas Men's main playmaker, helping the team to multiple accolades, the last being a SEA Games bronze medal finish in 2025.
