The Creamline Cool Smashers ended a rare losing streak in emphatic fashion on Sunday, outlasting Chery Tiggo in four sets in the 2025 PVL on Tour at the City of Passi Arena in Passi City, Iloilo.

Both teams had to deal with a lengthy delay in the fourth set due to a particularly difficult challenge, but the Cool Smashers came out of it firing on their way to a 25-21, 19-25, 25-16, 25-18 triumph.

It marked the end of a two-game slump for Creamline, which had lost to Cignal HD and ZUS Coffee in their previous assignments. The result also prevented the Cool Smashers from suffering a three-game losing streak for the first time in franchise history.

Meanwhile, the Crossovers lost for the first time in the PVL on Tour.

Alyssa Valdez submitted a vintage performance with 19 points, 15 receptions and 11 digs, while Pangs Panaga and Michele Gumabao each scored 17 for the Cool Smashers. Jema Galanza had 13 points and 10 digs.

The Crossovers were down by two points, 18-16, in the fourth set when a net violation was called, leading to a lengthy review that eventually led to officials deciding for the point to be re-played.

Creamline would take charge in the restart, with Gumabao, Galanza, and Valdez taking turns in scoring. Gumabao pounced on an overpassed ball to put the Cool Smashers at match point, and a Valdez crosscourt hit wrapped up the win.

Cess Robles, Arar Galang, and Penafiel each had 11 points for Chery Tiggo, who were outgunned by Creamline, 60-48, in attacks. The Crossovers benefitted from 26 unforced errors from the Cool Smashers.

Chery Tiggo had claimed the momentum after pulling away in the second set, with a combination play finished off by Galang allowing them to equalize the match.

But the Cool Smashers regained control in the third set as their middle blockers -- Panaga and rookie Sheena Toring -- stepped up and contributed in the scoring department.

Creamline improved to 3-2 with the result, while the Crossovers dropped to 3-1.
