MANILA -- Erika Santos led the way as Cignal HD overcame ZUS Coffee in four sets, 25-22, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16, for a bounce-back win in the 2025 PVL on Tour, Sunday at the City of Passi Arena in Passi City, Iloilo.
Santos fired 30 points on 29 kills to help the HD Spikers recover from a four-set defeat to Chery Tiggo on Saturday.
They improved to 4-1 in Pool B, while sinking ZUS Coffee to 2-2.
The Thunderbelles were hoping to build on Saturday's upset of Creamline, but fell behind by two sets as they had no answer for Santos.
They came alive in the third set, holding off a late fightback by Cignal HD to force an extension, but the HD Spikers regained their bearings there and denied the Thunderbelles a deciding set.
Cignal HD overwhelmed ZUS Coffee on offense, putting up a whopping 71 kills to only 49 for the Thunderbelles. That allowed them to make up for their 23 unforced errors.
Gel Cayuna was credited with 27 excellent sets in the win.
Chinnie Arroyo scored 20 points in a losing effort for ZUS Coffee.
