Photo from PVL Images.MANILA — The Akari Chargers completed a stunning third-set comeback to end the group stage of the PVL on Tour on a high note.

Akari clinched its second win following its sweep of the Capital1 Solar Spikers, 25-23, 25-18, 25-23, during their Tuesday evening faceoff at the FIlOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

Eli Soyud led the Chargers with 12 points on 11 attacks, Ezra Madrigal followed with 11 markers on eight attacks and three blocks, Grethcel Soltones chipped in nine, while Ivy Lacsina and Kamille Cal posted eight and five, respectively, to help their squad complete a massive run in the last frame.

The Chargers ended the group stage with a 2-3 record, and this victory of theirs sent the Solar Spikers to their fifth straight in as many games.

But while Capital1 was poised to send the game into a fourth period as they were already leading by nine, 21-12, Akari managed to regain their composure as they charged a 13-to-2 surge to steal the victory and keep their counterparts winless.

Aside from this, the Chargers’ 48-34 seperation in attack points also served as a major factor in their come-from-behind win, and they also banked on their advantages in the digging (56-44) and setting (24-15) departments.

On the other hand, Rachel Austero and Sydney Niego led the Solar Spikers with 11 points each, and Rovena Instrella closely followed with 10.
