MANILA -- The Farm Fresh Foxies showed their maturity in sweeping Petro Gazz, 25-23, 25-21, 25-23, for their second straight win in the 2025 PVL on Tour, Sunday afternoon at the Capital Arena in Ilagan City, Isabela.
The Foxies weathered a late Petro Gazz rally in the second set, then erased a slim deficit in the third set to complete the straight-sets victory.
They now have a 2-1 record in Pool A of the competition, while dropping the Angels to 1-3.
"Today wala talaga kamign inisip kun'di i-execute lang ang plays at instructions ni coach," said Jolina dela Cruz, who earned Player of the Match honors with 12 points built on 11 kills. "Gusto niya lang talaga mag-enjoy kami. Sa umpisa sobrang bagal kami, pero unti-unti, patience talaga."
Down 22-23 in the opener after an ace from Petro Gazz's Nicole Tiamzon, the Foxies tied the frame through a down-the-line hit by Trisha Tubu, then benefited from back-to-back attack errors by the Angels to claim the set.
Their blocking took center stage in the second set as they tallied four rejections -- including the reversal by Tubu on a hit by Jonah Sabete that put them in control, 2-0.
The Angels looked as though they would force an extension after Myla Pablo came alive in the third set, helping her team take a 21-18 lead. But behind key plays from Rachel Ann Daquis, the Foxies came roaring back and knotted the count at 23 through an attack error by Sabete.
Tubu then took over, drilling two consecutive hits to complete another impressive win for Farm Fresh.
The former Adamson University star had a team-high 15 points, while Caitlyn Viray also scored 12 points. The Foxies had a 40-28 advantage in attacks, allowing them to survive another error-strewn game that saw them give up 30 points off their miscues.
Pablo scored 18 points in another losing effort for the Angels, who continue to play sans national team standouts Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips.
