MANILA, Philippines – Following her surprise exit in Choco Mucho, Mars Alba has almost immediately found her new PVL squad.
Alba, a silver medalist with the Flying Titans and a UAAP champion and Finals MVP with De La Salle University, has joined the Akari Chargers, the team announced Wednesday.
The playmaker is expected to set the tone for this young Chargers squad, who are seeking to improve their standing at the ongoing PVL on Tour, where they currently stand at 1-3.

The development also came after ex-Akari setter Mich Cobb's new role as assistant team manager.
Akari, a podium finisher in the past two conferences, seeks to maximize Alba's standout setting skills to repeat—or not finish better—in the upcoming PVL tournaments.
Alba's departure from Choco Mucho also came after the squad drafted Fil-American Tia Andaya in the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft.
