MANILA — Anthony "Tonyboy" Liao was elected as new Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president on Friday, ushering in a new era in Philippine volleyball.
Liao, an executive of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), sitting as league chairman and was also a part of the PNVF board, will be taking the reins after his election.
He will be joined by Arnel Hajan (chairman), Yul Benoza (vice president), Otie Camangian (secretary-general), Ricky Palou (treasurer), and Roger Banzuela (auditor).
The board member list includes—aside from the abovementioned names—Charo Soriano, Victor Calvo, Michael Angelo Vargas, Sherwin Maganda, Daniel Cong-o, Edward Lee, and Ma. Socorro Calleja, according to a document obtained by ABS-CBN News.
The list was also confirmed to ABS-CBN News by a reputable source.
Liao replaces Ramon "Tats" Suzara, who was at the helm for four years, previously elected twice for two-year terms.
