Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s Justin Brownlee vs. TNT Tropang 5G’s Roger Pogoy in Game 6 of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup Finals. PBA Images.MANILA — While Justin Brownlee had another stellar night, it was Chris McCullough and TNT Tropang 5G who shone brighter as they forced an all-or-nothing Game 7 in the PBA Finals.

After erupting for a career-high 54 points last Friday, Brownlee poured in 52 in Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s 90-98 loss in Game 6 of the Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Sunday, setting up one last showdown between the Gin Kings and the Tropang 5G for the crown.
TNT head coach Chot Reyes acknowledged that stopping Brownlee — let alone containing the reigning Best Import of the Conference — is close to impossible.
However, allowing him to have his way while limiting Ginebra’s locals may be their best formula for victory, according to the veteran coach.
“Our game plan backfired on us last game. Justin beat us by himself,” said Reyes as his squad forced another Game 7 against the Gin Kings, much like in the Season 49 Finals in 2025.
“There’s very little we can do to stop him, so our best bet to win is to defend the others,” added the former Gilas Pilipinas coach.
Aside from Brownlee, no other Ginebra player scored in double figures.
Their next leading scorer was Troy Rosario, who finished with nine points, while Japeth Aguilar added eight.
Newly minted Best Player of the Conference RJ Abarrientos also had an off night with six points, and Scottie Thompson managed just three.
Excluding Brownlee’s output, Ginebra shot just 14-of-52 (26.9%) from the field, with Abarrientos and Thompson combining to go 2-of-18.
TNT is now in prime position to defend its crown and repeat what it did last year, when the Tropang 5G also overcame a 3-2 series deficit to capture the Commissioner’s Cup title.
And for Reyes, it is now a matter of capitalizing on the opportunity in front of them.
“We’ve been here before. We know we can do this, so we just have to clear our minds and put our best foot forward,” he said.
Game 7 of the TNT-Ginebra Finals series is set for Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
