The 6-foot-10 superstar of the San Miguel Beermen was among the new additions to the roster of legends that are considered the best of all time in Philippine basketball, joining the likes of Ramon Fernandez and Robert Jaworski to name a few.
“Isang karangalan na ma-recognize, na mapasama sa 50 Greatest,” said Fajardo after their 98-89 victory last Saturday vs. the NLEX Road Warriors. “Hindi ko in-expect na ngayon [agad] kasi maaga pa eh, naglalaro pa ako.”

Fajardo — the only eight-time PBA MVP winner, a 10-time champion, an 11-time Best Player of the Conference awardee, and a four-time Finals MVP — has dominated the league ever since his entry in 2012.
However, the ever-grounded Cebuano emphasized that his awards and feats do not excite him, especially since he is still chasing more titles for San Miguel Beer.
“Ang nasa isip ko, wala pa akong napanalunan at napatunayan,” Fajardo pointed out, even going so far as to say that his seemingly untouchable catalog of awards will eventually be broken by someone.
“Nakakataba ng puso. Pero tingin ko, may mag be-break din ng records ko,” he said. “Ang mga records, mabe-break at mabe-break din talaga yan.”
Instead, what Fajardo wants to achieve is bringing the Beermen back on top of the PBA, especially since they were ousted from playoff contention in the recently concluded Season 49 Commissioners Cup.
“Ako, ginagawa ko lang yung best ko para makabalik kami sa Finals,” insisted June Mar.
Fajardo was one of two active players to make the 10-man list, along with Ginebra guard Scottie Thompson.
