MANILA — The House of Representatives suspended work on Thursday due to tropical storm Maymay and the southwest monsoon.
The advisory was issued by House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil.
“Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 122 issued by the Office of the President on 05 August 2026, suspending work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region and several provinces due to continued heavy rainfall brought by Tropical Storm Maymay and the Southwest Monsoon, work in the House of Representatives is likewise suspended on Thursday, 06 August 2026,” the advisory stated.
“In line with the directive, offices performing essential functions are expected to ensure the continued delivery of critical services,” it added.
“The House leadership remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of all employees. All personnel are advised to take necessary precautions, stay safe, and prepare essential supplies during this period,” the advisory noted.
