#WalangPasok: Class, gov’t office work suspensions on Tuesday, July 22

Several local government units suspended classes on Tuesday, July 22 due to bad weather caused by the southwest monsoon or “habagat”.

(UPDATED as of 6 p.m.) The Department of Interior and Local Government on Monday announced the suspension of classes and work in government offices on Tuesday, July 22 due to bad weather caused by the southwest monsoon or “habagat”.

 Classes and work in government offices are suspended in the following areas:

 ALL LEVELS

Metro Manila

Cavite

Batangas

Rizal

Occidental Mindoro

Bataan

Bulacan

Pampanga

Pangasinan

Tarlac

Zambales

According to DILG, suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

According to state weather bureau PAGASA, the habagat is expected to affect Metro Manila and several other provinces in Luzon, bringing heavy rainfall until Tuesday noon.

The weather bureau on Monday said it has also monitored two low pressure areas  inside the Philippine Area of Reposnsibility. 

One LPA was 1,140 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon at 3 a.m. and "has a medium potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours."

The inclement weather has already prompted class and government office work suspension in the capital region, Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Laguna, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales and Bataan on Monday.
