After confirming from NCIA Director Fernando Delgado (Soliman Cruz) through a phone call that Sam (Julia Montes) and her team indeed came face-to-face with a high-profile gold-smuggling syndicate, as well as learning from him that went on with the operation despite being forbidden by him due to the looming suspension she currently faces.
However, in her pursuit of pleasing her father, former PMGen. Ricardo Jacinto (Edu Manzano) and of apprehending notorious gold smuggler Mr. Chan (Mike Castillo) to finally close this case, she still carried on with the mission. Although one of her team members got wounded, the rest of their unit was safe, and they even got hold of the criminal, which amazed Dir. Delgado. Before the call ended, Dir. Delgado advised Ricardo that Sam needs a father who will guide her, so she badly needs him.
Upon his arrival at their home from his intense meeting with his former subordinate-turned-nemesis Mariano (Efren Reyes Jr), Ricardo reprimanded Sam as soon as she arrived from work. He called her out for not obeying the protocols of her agency, telling her that no competent law enforcer would carry out an operation without orders or without the knowledge of their superior.
Sam argued that she and her team only did that to finally capture the members of the gold-smuggling syndicate and went on to delightfully inform him that they succeeded and are now close to solving the case. However, instead of being proud of her, Ricardo was clearly displeased and berated her for taking matters into her own hands at the expense of her colleagues.
Isobel (Carmi Martin) tried to appease Ricardo, but Max (Arci Muñoz) explained to her that what Sam did was a form of betrayal to the agency.
Ricardo further expressed his exasperation at Sam, telling her how she's actually destroying his name and legacy that he had worked so hard to build and uphold throughout his years in service because of her reckless actions. For the sake of Isobel who urged him to be the father he should be, especially to her, Ricardo told Sam that he's giving her a second chance. But once she besmirches his name again, he won't throw her out of their house, as he would instantly disown her as his child.
