On her way home from working as a part-time hostess at the beerhouse owned by Paquito (Rez Cortez), Betchay (Irma Adlawan) was busy counting her earnings when three men loitering in an alley suddenly approached her and forcibly demanded that she hand her money over. One of them restrained her in a headlock, another held a knife to her, while the third served as a lookout.
Betchay pleaded with them to let her go and spare her earnings, explaining that she needed the money to pay for the surgery of her beloved husband, Rudy (Joey Marquez). However, her pleas fell on deaf ears as the men continued to threaten her until they managed to take the money from her. Just then, Gabo arrived and warned the men that if they refused to release her or return what they had taken, he would make sure they would be the ones being mourned by the following morning.
As he drew his knife and prepared to charge at them, one of the goons told him that they were on the same side and assured him that they would return his mother’s money. The men quickly fled, leaving the cash scattered on the ground, which Betchay picked up while in tears. As Gabo helped her, Betchay angrily told him that she did not need his help and that she could have handled those bastards on her own.
Apparently hurt and stunned by his stepmother’s words, Gabo was left speechless as he watched Betchay walk away.
