Jameson Blake’s “roller-coaster ride” to becoming a “pisonaryo” in “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal”

Luck was obviously not on lucky star player Jameson Blake’s side as he became the first “pisonaryo” of the ongoing season of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”

Jameson Blake’s confidence that he would walk away with a huge cash prize during his stint as the lucky star player in the May 16 episode of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” gave way to surprise after he ended up taking home just one peso, becoming the season’s first-ever “pisonaryo.”

At the moment the lucky wheel stopped spinning, its needle rested at number 8, which has been assigned to Jameson. When host Luis Manzano asked how he felt about finally getting the chance to play, the actor admitted he had a strong feeling it would happen during that episode. Further quizzed about the moment when he mustered courage, Jameson replied, “Ako, Kuya Luis, kapag nasa stage na ako, laban na ako agad e. So, when it comes to performing or acting, if I’m ready to perform, game na ako agad.”

If ever he were fortunate enough to win the P1 million, Jameson shared that he would most likely invest it in a residential property. Just when it was presumed that he would choose briefcase number 3 based on his explanation in the VTR shown before his game began, he apparently had a change of heart. Instead, he swapped his briefcase for number 17, which had been assigned to Long Mejia. He explained that, aside from it being his birthday, he was also drawn to the comedian’s energy and vibe.

By choosing to open number 3 in the very first round of opening briefcases, it was made clear to him that he really should have picked that one because it contained ₱500,000. He also lost the P250,000 amount after that. His streak of opening briefcases with large amounts continued in the second round as the P150,000 and P100,000 amounts were both eliminated. At the same time, it was in that round when everyone found out that his original briefcase, number 8, only contained P500.

Just when he managed to recover in the succeeding rounds by getting rid of several lower amounts, which allowed Banker’s offer to climb as high as P177,700, Jameson’s dreaded moment came in the penultimate round of opening of briefcases. P1,000,000 suddenly showed up as comedian Red Ollero opened briefcase number 16.

The devastating reveal prompted Banker to lower the offer to just ₱6,700. Still determined to see the game through, Jameson firmly rejected it and said, “NO DEAL.”

With only ₱1 and ₱10,000 remaining on the board, everyone hoped that the higher amount was inside Jameson’s briefcase. Unfortunately, when it was finally opened, it contained only one peso — officially making him the first “pisonaryo” of the current season of “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”

When asked by Luis how he was feeling at that moment, Jameson admitted that the experience had been an emotional rollercoaster. “Totoong rollercoaster talaga ’tong round na ’to! I went up [and] down, up [and] down, [tapos] syempre may ending ’yan,” he enthused. Despite giving off positive vibes, he still couldn’t help but express his deep regret for not listening to the advice of his fellow lucky stars.
