Over the past three years, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” has indeed filled our weeknights with intense action, drama, and suspense. With how insanely thrilling or moving, as well as well-executed or mind-blowing each scene is, avid viewers probably have their favorites which they find truly remarkable.
But have you ever wondered if the cast members of the top-rating series have their own favorite scenes, either of their characters or of their castmates? Well, ABS-CBN Studios had the oppoortunity to personally ask them one by one and compiled their responses in this exclusive feature!
Let's begin with veteran character actor Allan Paule, who said that his favorite scene was when his well-loved character, Mando, figured in a heated argument with his longtime friend-slash-colleague, Rigor (John Estrada), after he criticized his decisions and actions regarding the death of Santino (Ron Martin).
John Medina, who played one of the Montenegros’ most trusted aide, Franco, reminisced on his first-ever scene with Christopher de Leon, which he confessed overwhelmed him with a mix of nervousness and excitement.
Meanwhile, Atty. Rey Campanilla fondly looked back at Congressman Leo Mojica’s altercation with Rigor during one of their rallies in San Dimas, wherein he ridiculed him for being a “tuta ng mga Guerrero.”
Ihman Esturco, who was revealed to be the discoverer of Coco Martin, recounted the moments when his character, Lorenzo, gave pep talks to his boss, Olivia (Chanda Romero), every time she got waves of discouragement during her initial bid as mayor. He also mentioned the death scene of his character, as it proved how Lorenzo had always been a loyal friend and supporter to Olivia.

For Raymond Ronquillo, it was when his character, Raul, piloted a helicopter during Wating’s mission against Ramon (Christopher de Leon) and his henchmen because of how complicated and dangerous it was. At the same time, their battles that involved car chases and car drifting were also memorable for him as those provided a different kind of thrill for him.

Tropang Tanggol members Mammoth Estroso, Mark Anthony “Big Mak” Andaya, and Ryan Martin also disclosed their favorite scenes from “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”
Mammoth iterated that his most favorite scene was when the tropa thought that Tanggol was indeed already killed during his encounter with Rigor and Mando. It was unforgettable for him since it was his first time crying and wailing in front of the camera, especially since “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” was his first-ever acting gig.
Big Mak, who played Tanos, looked back to their scenes at the correctional facility, wherein they really immersed and interacted with real inmates. That experience opened his and his colleagues’ eyes to the harsh and distressing conditions that people deprived of liberty are going through.

Ryan, meanwhile, considers the fall of Tropang Tanggol as the most memorable scene for him because that was when the strong and genuine friendship of his character, Dolfo, with the other members, was absolutely put to the test.

Rappers Bassilyo, Smugglaz, and Sisa imparted their favorite scenes as well.
Bassilyo fondly revisited that particular scene of the Tondo Gang—in which his character, Teban, was a part of—shot at the plaza in front of the Quiapo Church wherein they relentlessly roughed up Tanggol (Coco Martin). While the scene was notable for itself as it exhibited one of the vulnerable moments of Tanggol, what made it stand out for him even more was seeing Coco and Lovi Poe’s dedication and compliance in doing the scene despite being under the heat of the sun.
From being one of Coco’s allies in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” Smugglaz ‘fessed up about feeling astonished when he learned that he would be one of Tanggol’s enemies in this series. Thus, he would never forget the first-ever faceoff of his character, Kidlat, with Tanggol as the leader of Tondo Gang at the the 18th birthday celebration of Mokang. That made indeed made him feel overwhelmed yet honored, which is something that he’s been truly proud of.
For her part, Sisa chose the betrayal of her character, Sonia, to the first angkong or leader of the Red Phoenix Group, portrayed by screen legend Joonee Gamboa, as it showed how loyalty sometimes comes with a hefty price.

The councilors rallying behind Tanggol shared their favorite scenes in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” too.
Nor Domingo, who plays Tonyo, mentions the siege at the city hall. Although it’s the most challenging and exhausting sequence he’d ever done on the show, it was among the most fun and most rewarding. Despite not being part of it, the grim ending of Tropang Tanggol was also unforgettable for him, as he found it very painful to watch the characters and actors whom he’d grown fond of suffer immensely.
Entrepreneur and first-time actor Chet Pastrana revisited the first-ever scene of his character Francis, which he initially found challenging and quite stressful. He also mentioned the explosion during Team Tanggol’s miting de avance as he had witnessed there how really professional and down-to-earth the big stars were as they carried on with the scene despite the not-so-okay condition of the location.
Another one was when the police blasted the protesters, in which he was part of, with a water canon during their demonstration outside the city hall. He described it as a “very good” experience for him, because apart from doing it alongside Coco, Cherry Pie Picache, and Christopher de Leon, it also mirrored the current situation of our country.
Jun Nayro, who plays Emilio, echoed Nor and Chet’s answers, disclosing that the rally sequence made him realize and feel the hardships that activists go through in their pursuit of fighting for our rights and the causes they advocate.
Tess Antonio, on the other hand, couldn’t help herself from getting emotional as she recounted the scenes of Tanggol paying his last respects to Santino and seeing David (McCoy de Leon) trying his best to reach him during their team’s campaign caravan, which she both found totally heartbreaking.

As showbiz newcomers, Nicole Luna (as Kitkat) and Jegs Chinel (as Patty) both tagged the death of Aleck Bovick’s character, Linda, as their most favorite scene since it was their first time crying onscreen.

Geline Garcia, meanwhile, said that she would never forget that scene when her character, Geline, got into a heated argument with David, in which she was able to finally let him know the things that she’d been meaning to tell him.
