We already know Jason Dy as a talented singer, who rose to stardom after winning the second season of “The Voice Philippines” in 2014. He went on to appear on “ASAP” since then, through which he’s been able to further display his brilliance and versatility as a performer, as well as in other programs of ABS-CBN.
However, not a lot of people know that there’s indeed more to him than being a handsome crooner, for he also can act and impersonate other artists—just like what he’s been doing on “Your Face Sounds Familiar” over the past months. Now, he already has two wins and 229 points under his belt, making him one of the show’s frontrunners.
With “Your Face Sounds Familiar” coming to a close very soon, let us first look back on the consistently outstanding performances of the “Prince of Soul” via this special feature.
His “YFSF” journey commenced with his portrayal of his good friend and fellow Kapamilya crooner Erik Santos during the pilot episode, wherein he sang, “Pagbigyang Muli.” After his performance, he disclosed that he was actually wearing the whole outfit that the Kapamilya King of Teleserye Theme Songs donned in his “MilEStone: The 20th Anniversary Concert” last 2024.
Aside from the praises of the jury, he also earned the nod of Erik himself, who made a surprise appearance on the show not just to personally express his support to Jason but to also joke around with everyone. With how he nailed his impersonation, he received a total of 24 points from the jury and an additional 3 points from JMielle (JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano), who dominated the pilot week.
Jason truly saved the best for last in the following round, closing the showdown with a stunning, spot-on portrayal of Sam Smith. From his look and costume to his precise rendition of “Dancing With The Strangers,” as well as his manner of speaking and moving onstage, he completely embodied his icon. His transformation was so impressive that Sam even liked and commented on his Instagram post featuring photos and a video of the multi-awarded English singer-songwriter.
Jason got the highest combined score of 33 points—24 from the jury and 9 from his fellow celebrity performers Dia Mate, Jarlo Base, and JMielle.
His performance of “New York, New York” as Frank Sinatra in the third round apparently wasn’t particularly notable as he only got 12 points from the jury and an additional 3 points from Rufa Mae Quinto. He placed fourth to fifth alongside Pepe Herrera, who performed the viral hit “Ere” as Juan Karlos Labajo.
After taking on three consecutive male artists with completely different vocal ranges and singing styles, the “Prince of Soul” further displayed his versatility as he impersonated Britney Spears in the fourth round. The challenge came with added pressure because not only was he stepping into the shoes of a beloved and legendary female icon, but he was also up against Alexa, who portrayed Britney as well.
The two went head-to-head in the first-ever “Battle of One Icon” in the entire history of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” with him channeling the pop superstar in one of her live performances of “Toxic,” while she recreated Britney’s highly talked about “I’m A Slave 4 U” act in an awards show. In the end, he tallied 18 points from the jury and received 3 more from Alexa, who won the round, leaving him as runner-up.
In the fifth round, Jason then had the chance to pay tribute to one of his ultimate idols in the local music scene as he transformed into Concert King Martin Nievera and delivered a heartfelt rendition of the classic OPM love song, “Kahit Isang Saglit.” However, he seemingly fell short of fully captivating the jury, who awarded him a total of 12 points, placing him fourth.

For the Christmas special of “YFSF,” Jason once again wowed audiences with his second gender-switch performance, in which he made everyone groove to Cher’s “DJ Play A Christmas Song.” He ranked 4th anew after receiving a total of 16 points from the jury and standing ovations from both Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid after his performance.
He then went on to make us swoon with his portrayal of Ed Sheeran, serenading us with one of his greatest hits, “Perfect.” It was an obvious favorite during the seventh round, as he received the second highest score of 22 points—13 from the jury and three each from Alexa, JMielle, and Jarlo Base.
Jason once again climbed down to the 4th spot in the eighth round when he brought back to life the “King of Rock n Roll” Elvis Presley and performed one of his classic hits, “Hound Dog.” He got a combined score of 13 points after the jury gave him a total of 10, while weekly winner Akira contributed 3.
He may be known as a balladeer—and probably a gender-switch slayer by now—but Jason further proved in the ninth round that he could do hard rock as well via his transformation into Michael Bolton. Since it was way far from his vocal range and style, he indeed impressed the jury with how he accepted the difficult challenge of belting out the classic “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You.” He earned a total of 12 points for this performance, placing fourth in the rankings.
In the 10th round, Jason totally amazed everyone with how he absolutely embodied his icon, Cardi B. He had jaws dropping the moment he appeared on the “iconator,” more so when he delivered a spectacularly “okurrr” performance, revealing his hidden rapping talent. Thus, it was no surprise when he was declared the weekly winner for his third gender-switch act after tallying the highest score of 29 points—20 of which were from the jury while the rest were contributed by his co-artists Alexa, Akira, and Jarlo.
Jason found an opportunity to get back at BGYO Akira in the 11th round by stealing Benson Boone from him and making him perform as Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses.. It may not be the first time for the fans of Jason to see him imitate his icon since he dressed up as him during a Halloween party in 2025, yet it was everyone’s first time to see him fully impersonate the American singer-songwriter as he rocked the stage with his “Beautiful Things” act. He landed on the 4th spot anew after earning 14 points from the jury.
And in the 12th round, Jason brought us back to the younger years of the one and only Sir Elton John as he recreated a live performance of one of his earliest and enduring hits, “Your Song.” He was rewarded by the jury with 15 points, tying with JMielle in the 3rd and 4th spots.
Jason Dy’s delightful journey on “Your Face Sounds Familiar” has proven him to be a truly talented and versatile artist, who is capable of impressively channeling even female icons. Will he surprise us with another gender-switch number in the grand showdown, or will he tackle a male icon this time?
