After 12 rounds of transformations, "Your Face Sounds Familiar" is headed to the Grand Showdown. With the massive support and appreciation the seven celebrity performers and the show itself received, especially online, it's safe to say that the fourth season of the iconic impersonation competition has been a huge success.
And so, Rufa Mae Quinto, Alexa Ilacad, Jason Dy, Akira Morishita, Jarlo Base, Dia Mate, and duo JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano are closing out the season on a high note, with hearts full of gratitude.
During the 'Road to the Grand Showdown' closing episode, the performers thanked everyone who showed them love and support throughout their "YFSF" journeys. As Jason put it, "Hindi magiging ganito ka-successful ang aming season kung hindi dahil sa inyong lahat na nanood, lahat ng naki-comment online, lahat ng nag-repost ng performances namin." He also gave special credit to the transformation teams behind the prosthetics, makeup, wardrobe, and everything in between. The group even jokingly extended their thanks to the bashers as well.
Beyond the fans, Rufa Mae made sure to thank her number one inspiration—her daughter Athena, who at first seemed reluctant to let her join the show, but became far more supportive after watching her perform live as Meghan Trainor.
Alexa, meanwhile, directed her gratitude toward her co-performers, who had become her inspiration and motivation throughout the season. "Ang hirap to be in a competition. Nakakabaliw," she said. "But, you guys, made it worth it for me kasi you inspired me every week to do my best. Natatakot akong makalaban kayo kasi sobrang galing n'yo, but because of that I feel like I grew. Ang laking ambag n'yo sa artistry ko as a performer. Thank you for showing up every single day. Iba 'tong experience talaga to be with artists who make me scared sa sobrang galing ninyong lahat. Feeling ko you, guys, made me a better performer and a better artist."
Rufa Mae then shared that they had always rooted for one another, and that losing never felt bad because they were genuinely happy whenever a castmate took home the win.
The group also made sure to give a shoutout to Pepe Herrera, who was part of the competition during its first few weeks. Akira, for his part, directed his thanks to "YFSF" as a platform that gave all of them the space to showcase more of their talent.
"Maraming salamat, KaFamiliars!" they said in unison as they closed out the special episode with a group hug.
