Stella (Kim Chiu) is willing to sacrifice everything for Katherine (Angelina Cruz) and Joseph (Enzo Osorio) in the March 20 episode of “The Alibi.”
Katherine, Stella’s younger sister, arrives home later than Stella, which makes her upset. Stella scolds her for staying out late at a party, one she had forbidden her to attend in the first place. Katherine tries to lie about where she had been, but Stella doesn’t believe her and scolds her even more for leaving the house untidy. “Ate, para kang nanay makatalak,” Katherine tells Stella.
“Alangan namang pabayaan ko kayo, diba?” Stella replies. Katherine dislikes how Stella keeps nagging, and her frustration leads her to throw things. “Wag mo kong papakitaan ng ganyan ngayong puyat at pagod ako ah,” Stella warns her. She reminds Katherine of all the sacrifices she has made, and how her job as an escort helped provide them with a better life, even though she still hopes to find a more decent job.
“Paano ka magkakamaayos na trabaho kung nakulong ka?” Katherine adds. “Nung nakulong ka, nagkawatak-watak kaming magkakapatid. Tapos araw-araw napapahiya kami kasi may ate kaming ex-con!” Stella, with tears welling up in her eyes, tells Katherine not to care about what other people say about their family.
Joseph arrives, urging his sisters to stop fighting. But Stella continues, “Lahat ng ginagawa ko para sa inyo. Kahit ilako ko yung katawan ko umaga hanggang gabi, gagawin ko… para mabuhay kayo.” Moments later, Joseph suddenly loses consciousness, and Stella and Katherine quickly rush him to a clinic.
