Apart from the twists and turns of Liam (Donny Pangilinan) and Olsen's (Kyle Echarri) brotherhood story, another reason why “Roja” keeps us on the edge of our seats is how Wendy (Janice de Belen) and Greta’s (Lorna Tolentino) relationship transformed from solid friendship into a tale of betrayal---digging up issues from their past and deeply affecting their families and children.
Here are 5 fiery confrontations between Greta and Wendy that revolve around betrayal, broken promises, and secrets unraveling.
1. Greta and Wendy's dark secret
With Greta’s involvement in Wendy's estafa case, Olsen reveals everything to the Roja family about how she made Wendy her fall guy, sending her to jail instead of herself. When Liam learns the truth, he questions Greta about whether the allegations against her are true, but Wendy tries to defend her. Magnus (Raymond Bagatsing), listening intently, presses Greta for more about the revelations.
Greta quickly apologizes to him, admitting that there was indeed an estafa case against her. Olsen grows furious with Greta, while Liam is baffled upon learning about her crimes. She reveals that she immediately paid Wendy a million pesos right after she was released from jail.
Greta asks. Olsen speaks once more in defense of Wendy, “Akala ko magkaibigan kayo? Greta remains unfazed, insisting that Olsen should be grateful that he and Wendy had reunited because of her, as she had also helped Wendy before with his medical bills.
2. Promises turned to wounds
After the revelations, Wendy tries to woo Greta, who remains worried about Liam's safety against Emil (Joel Torre) and his armed men. She grows furious with Wendy.
Wendy tries to apologize to her, but Greta remains unfazed. “Tinupad ko ang pangako ko. Sana tinupad mo rin ang pangako mo.” Greta feels betrayed, as they had previously made a pact that anything about the estafa case must remain a secret between them, but their families found out because of Wendy. “Ako ngayon ang naiipit,” says Greta.
Wendy convinces Greta that Magnus would understand her later on, but Greta does not budge. Another underlying issue Greta has with Wendy is her close relationship with Magnus. Greta blames Wendy further, eventually slapping her. Magnus immediately stops Greta from hurting Wendy.
3. Greta's inner turmoil
As Greta worries about her secrets being revealed to her family, Wendy still tries to comfort her. Greta does not listen, dwelling instead on how Wendy betrayed her.
Lolo Ben (Levi Ignacio) tries to intervene between the two, wanting to express his sentiments about what Greta did. But Greta refuses to believe him, as Wendy had also done something against her before. Greta then leaves the two, furious.
4. Greta confronts Wendy and Magnus’ past
After Liam was shot by the goons, Wendy asks Greta about his condition. However, Greta remains silent. Wendy talks to her further, asking about the mistake Greta keeps insisting she committed.
Wendy’s words sting Greta. Pero hindi nila alam, you deserve it. Greta then reveals that she knew about what happened between Wendy and Magnus.
Wendy tries to explain, but Greta refuses to listen. Wendy denies this, which causes Greta to slap her. Magnus intervenes and takes Greta to another room, leaving Wendy in despair.
5. Wendy fights Greta's stubbornness
As Magnus, Olsen, and Liam go head-to-head with Emil, Wendy and Greta are left with the other victims to escape the island premises. However, Greta grows worried about Liam and Magnus, refusing to leave with the victims even though they try to convince her.
Wendy tries to convince Greta, but she does not budge. “Talaga? Greta responds. As they continue to persuade her but she still refuses to come, Wendy slaps her.
Wendy screams at her, making Greta realize the importance of their safety.
