Following the progressing “Lost Beauconeras” case, Erica (Kaila Estrada), Marco (Race Matias), and PBI officials work together, successfully locating the bodies of the murdered beauty queens and Francine Valmoria, who was the only survivor and was left abused by Oslo for three months.
Finding this injustice too heavy to endure, Erica lashes out at the PBI, questioning the unfairness of the law, which will grant Oslo immunity, given that he had unveiled crucial information and would soon be useful to catch more powerful criminals. Eventually, Erica explains that she understands the harsh reality, although at times it becomes insufferable to witness.
Soon after visiting Greg, Francine’s father, who embraces Erica and expresses how proud he is of her, Erica reflects on her recent tumultuous encounters, unsure of what she actually feels.
As Marco arrives to accompany her, Erica confesses that she’s losing her mind, the tears she has held back through years of solitary hardship now threatening to pour out all at once. Just as he always does, Marco comforts Erica, reassuring her that she should definitely acknowledge her wins more, especially that a lot of the people she helped—Greg, Francine, and even Marco—now have the chance to live their lives freely again.
Despite this, Erica begins to doubt herself once more, feeling as though she is living on borrowed time, as if she has gained everything at the cost of someone else’s innocence—particularly Edong’s (Jake Cuenca). She further emphasizes that, for these reasons, she has no right to hold on to anyone or anything. Marco then suggests that this may be why she avoids forming emotional attachments altogether.
Recalling Alice’s (Janella Salvador) words, Erica agrees at the thought that they all truly need therapy. Marco counters gently, telling her that if she thinks she deserves every bit of pain Edong has given her, then she surely deserves the good things as well.
