She may come off as tough and fierce most of the time—at least in her portrayal of Jackie Guerrero in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo”—but what many may not know is that Angel Aquino is actually a soft-hearted and fun-loving woman in real life.
And this was evident in the short video uploaded by CCM Film Productions across their social media platforms, where the Kapamilya actress was caught pleasantly surprised by the staff and crew on the set for her birthday.
The “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” team successfully pulled off the surprise, led by her co-actor and onscreen son, Jake Cuenca.
Angel—whom the production’s social media team has described as a “strong, fearless, and unapologetic woman”—was visibly stunned and emotional when she entered the room that serves as the office of Jake’s character, Mayor Miguelito Guerrero, and saw everyone gathered for her. She immediately covered her face, trying to hide her reaction, before Jake welcomed her with open arms and gave her a warm embrace.
He then presented to Angel her birthday cake while everybody sang her the “Happy Birthday” song, which made her more speechless and emotional as she blew the birthday candle and softly uttered, “Thank you.” She sent flying kisses to everyone and tried to shake off her emotions by doing a few small jumps, drawing smiles from the group.
The clip ended on a lighthearted note, with Angel joking that it wouldn’t be the last time she’d react that way—saying she’d probably be just as overwhelmed on her final day on the show.
