His “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” character, Miguelito Guerrero, may have been receiving hate from avid viewers for being ruthless, quick-tempered, and greedy, but it’s a totally different case in real life for talented actor Jake Cuenca, who is loved by many just like the family he has found in the highly successful primetime series.
Attesting to that is the simple surprise they’d prepared for him recently on the set, as he celebrated his 38th birthday last December 30. In a short video posted by CCM Film Productions across its social media platforms, an oblivious Jake was seen speaking with his co-star, Angel Aquino, as several staff and crew led by their director, Malu L. Sevilla, were seen quietly marching into their location with one of them holding a cake in his hands.
He was completely astonished when they started singing the “Happy Birthday” song, which obviously delighted him. As for his birthday wish, he dedicated it to everyone by stating, “Sana 2026 is good for all of us all!” Aside from happily expressing his gratitude to everyone for the surprising, sweet gesture, Jake also gave Angel, whom he fondly called “Ma,” a warm embrace.
Direk Malu was then caught enthusiastically explaining to Jake and Angel how they planned the surprise, with her seemingly being the mastermind. He went on to hug their director afterwards and left the area with the cake in his one hand while doing the signature Miguelito dance move, which started to become viral online when he did it during the campaign rally of the Guerreros.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much,” he further said to the camera as he did the Miguelito dance move once again. Angel was tailing him, proudly exclaiming that it was her onscreen son’s birthday.
Jake shared this reel on his Instagram stories, which he captioned, “Maraming salamat mga ka BQ [“person gesturing no” emoji] [blue heart emoji].”
