As the now-iconic teleserye line goes, “papunta pa lang tayo sa exciting part."
And that exciting part is the housemates taking on their 11th weekly task, while the voting for 'The Big Wildcard Round' of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" ending soon.
For this week’s task, each group must build block towers on both ends of a seesaw. At first, they’re allowed to hold the seesaw while stacking blocks, but once either of the towers reaches the one-foot mark, they must let go and keep the seesaw balanced. To succeed, both towers must reach a height of four feet within the allotted five hours. The housemates on both sides cannot see each other’s towers, but all group members can freely communicate while building.
The 'Soaring Langga' team, led by John Clifford, with members Heath Jornales, Krystal Mejes, and Miguel Vergara bravely volunteered to go first. Heath and Krystal were positioned on one side of the seesaw, while Clifford and Miguel were on the other.
They kicked off the task by immediately balancing the seesaw, unaware that Heath and Krystal’s side was heavier to begin with. Their initial strategy was to build using six blocks per layer, placing each block simultaneously. The plan seemed effective at first, and they reached the one-foot mark. However, the blocks collapsed as soon as they released the seesaw.
Later on, Miguel realized that Heath and Krystal’s side was indeed heavier. So the next approach was to have Miguel and Clifford build first until the weight on both sides became equal. It was tricky, as they had to gauge how to balance the seesaw just by feel. Eventually, they caught up to the weight on Heath and Krystal’s side. Their next plan was that Clifford and Miguel would stack six blocks per layer, while Heath and Krystal would only use five.
Soon, it looked like they had achieved a balanced setup, thanks to their teamwork and synchronized movements. Then Miguel discovered another twist—not all the blocks weighed the same, so they decided to separate the lighter pieces from the heavier ones as part of their technique.
After three hours, they were just a few blocks away from the four-foot goal when both towers collapsed. But instead of giving up, the group rallied and pushed through the remaining two hours. Another attempt failed. With the clock ticking, they had to move faster.
When only one hour remained, they tried a new approach—two people placing blocks at every count to speed things up. With this method, the group was able to raise the towers quickly. For the viewers, it was a nerve-wracking sight, especially as the seesaw started shaking, forcing the group to troubleshoot multiple times mid-build. But they never ran out of patience or trust in one another.
In the last ten minutes, they placed their final blocks to complete the four-foot towers. As Big Brother counted down from ten, all they could do was pray the towers wouldn’t fall.
'Soaring Langga' triumphed in this weekly task, which they described as one of the most fulfilling because of its level of difficulty. Big Brother reminded everyone, however, that the task must not be discussed in any way until all groups have completed their turn.
