An unforgettable ‘first’ in PBB history, Nadine Lustre stepped into Bahay Ni Kuya. The "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" housemates were totally starstruck when they met the icon dubbed as the ‘internet’s President’—in the flesh!
One of the most visibly flustered housemates was Joaquin Arce, who went all out preparing for Nadine’s arrival. Imagine how hard it was for him to hold back his excitement when deep inside, his heart was practically screaming with kilig! “Crush na crush ko po siya, as in," he told Big Brother in the confession room. Joaquin even bathed in perfume for the ‘occasion.’ And Miguel Vergara didn’t let himself fall behind in the 'pabango' department either. It really wasn’t just an ordinary day in the house, right?!
The ‘Nadine effect’ inside Bahay Ni Kuya was something else. Carmelle Collado’s squeals echoed throughout the entire house, while Krystal Mejes was so mindblown she just stood frozen, stunned by Nadine’s beauty. We’re used to seeing Princess Aliyah and Ashley Sarmiento fangirl over houseguests with sky-high energy, but this time, they were so shocked they couldn’t even react.
While Nadine was already chatting with the girls, the boys were literally crawling on the floor in embarrassment as they entered the living room. Miguel even forgot his plan to change into nicer clothes to look more presentable for their visitor. Heath Jornales and John Clifford, too, were frozen like statues in their spots. And when it was Joaquin’s turn to enter the house, he moved so formally, though deep inside he was feeling like a 'Big Winner' already just from seeing the woman, whose beauty he described as "artwork ni Lord."
Since the housemates are around the same age as Nadine was when she entered showbiz, she understands their struggle of still trying to find themselves, which is why she engaged them in a heartfelt pep talk about the industry and chasing dreams. And yes, she did all of this while cooking pasta for them in the kitchen.
"Sorry, medyo starstruck kaming lahat," Joaquin said apologetically, breaking the awkwardness in the kitchen as the housemates were so stunned to figure out how to move or what to say in Nadine's presence.
Eventually, the conversation started to flow, and the housemates found the courage to get to know their guest. Ashley asked Nadine how she prepared for her first ‘mom’ role in the film "Call Me Mother," to which Nadine shared that she didn’t find it difficult to tap into the ‘mothering’ part of the story, but it was her character’s beauty queen side that really challenged her. And to clear things up, she told the housemates point-blank that she has no plans of joining any pageant.
Princess then asked for advice on how to be more confident. The housemates related to Nadine’s story about going through an “identity crisis” early in her showbiz career and how she eventually embraced it as part of her self-discovery. "I think you just have to allow yourselves to go through it. Kasi, eventually, as you get older, you'll understand that it was necessary," Nadine told the teen housemates. "Kung ano 'yung pagdadaanan n'yo, pagdaanan n'yo lang. Okay lang 'yun. It's never going to be the same struggle for everyone... Kapit lang talaga."
Soon enough, everyone was sharing and enjoying Nadine’s pasta dish while the conversations kept going. And as the night wore on and it was time for their guest to leave, the housemates felt a little sad, which only goes to show how much they truly savored every second of their conversations and time spent with Nadine.
