Just as Tanggol (Coco Martin) and Santino (Ronwaldo Martin) were starting to patch things up between them by asking for each other’s forgiveness following their much-awaited reunion that began with Santino venting out his deep-seated resentment against Tanggol, a devastating tragedy suddenly struck.
Moments after pulling away from Tanggol’s embrace, Santino was accidentally shot by his father, Rigor (John Estrada), who was vehement to finally finish off Tanggol, along with his father, Ramon (Christopher de Leon), and their comrades. Desperate to save his younger brother, Tanggol cradled Santino in his left arm while continuing to fight with his right, gun in hand, dragging him through the chaos as he battled for their lives.
Unfortunately, the gunshot was too fatal, which led to the heartbreaking demise of Santino. But prior to taking his last breath, Santino asked Tanggol to look after their beloved mother, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache), and was even able to tell him how grateful he had been to have him as his brother and how much she loved him. Tanggol urged him to fight for his life, promising him that their family would soon be finally complete—just like what he had always dreamed of—but his strength finally gave out.
Tanggol’s anguished cries echoed in the old train depot as his youngest brother died in his arms, his grief quickly giving way to overwhelming pain and rage.
